My name is Denise and I have been a Nurse for 16 years.
I started out later in life to attain my dream of becoming a nurse. I decided to focus on my family and went back to school when the time was right.
I completed the Registered Practical Nurse program in 2008. While working in Nephrology, I continued toward my degree in nursing, completing both programs in 5 years full time. I graduated from the BScN program in 2011 and immediately shifted to critical care at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. During the next 10 years I was able to expand my experience in Emergency Medicine, Acute Mental Health, and ultimately managed a Health Centre for an International private school. I have recently worked with First Nations Communities, employed by Indigenous Services Canada and presently work as the nurse supervisor of Mohawk College. All of these experiences have been pivotal toward my current career goal, which is attaining my Master of Nursing. . I am passionate in becoming an educator and leader in the health care profession.
I am blessed to be a mother to four children and wife to an incredible man. I have a great love for family and friends and all animals and creatures.
I am a visual artist and love to be creative in my down time. I also enjoy cooking and renovations. The picture on my home page is an oil painting from my sister in law and is one of my favourites!
